So it’s official. My radio show is called ‘It Must Be Love Radio’! It’s what I am all about as The Divorce Doctor - healing your heart or your relationship whether you stay together or decide to part.
I’ve taken the name from my theme tune (by Madness – very apt!) and this week I recorded my programme live in the Glastonbury Studio which was just as amazing as Glastonbury itself.
For those of you who have not been to Glastonbury, it truly is an experience. I stayed in the equivalent of Fawlty Towers; a ‘hotel’ called George & Pilgrim that dates back 500 years and it shows. It was so totally dreadful that it was funny but thank goodness only for one night. If Glastonbury is all about love and peace as well as Druids, Witches and Pagans, then the George & Pilgrim hotel has completely missed the point. When I arrived ‘Mrs. Owner’ was shouting at a prospective client on the phone saying in a French accent, (yes she was French which seemed a little strange in such an English heritage town) that ‘Non Non’ he certainly could not arrive late as she would have shut the door and gone to bed! I wont even describe the rooms as I would not advise anyone to stay there and as for breakfast – don’t even go there. Also if you are looking for a decent cup of coffee, Glastonbury is not the place.
So complaints over, the job in hand was to drink in the sights and sounds of Glastonbury and believe me if you want sights and sounds you have come to the right place. This is a place of angels, and crystals and moonstones and a gothic paradise. There are wonderful smells that are probably illegal and amazing people who are doing their own, very alternative, thing. I was looked after by the incredible Doug Hill who owns the radio station and built the Gauntlet Shopping street complete with his own suit of armour on display who is as much a character as anyone I shall ever meet. His generosity of spirit and quite magnetic charisma is felt everywhere we walked and by everyone we met as he showed me around the town.
I was joined on the programme this week by the Barefoot Doctor, live from his home in Ibiza and we had an amazing show talking about all things relationship from a Tao perspective as well as a more practical viewpoint. There will be a free down load of this recording on the site very soon and I would love to hear your comments and opinions about our discussion and what you would like to hear me talk about on my future shows.
Driving back in the drizzle past Stonehenge, away from the Glastonbury experience, it occurred to me that had I never been married and had I never got divorced and had I never, as a result, created The Divorce Doctor, out of the pain and sadness that divorce can bring, I never would have been in Glastonbury recording a radio show and having the adventures that I continuously have and have had over the past 16 years. The moral of this very indulgent blog is, as I have said before, that there is always a gift in every little bit of garbage that we experience along the way. I was given lemons and I made lemonade and now I can help you do the same. Life is a huge adventure when you can over come the fear of an uncertain future. If you want that in your life, then give me a call and I’ll help you to begin your own fabulous adventure right here right now.
Love Francine
