Well, what an interesting week and weekend. In my quest to delve deeper in the questions and challenges you have around love and relationships I visited the Miracle Café in Covent Garden last Thursday. There was a speaker, who shall remain nameless to guard his privacy (yes, I know you can Google everyone these days), and around 40 people looking for answers to some very deep questions like ‘who would I be without my ego’. Now this is not for everyone, but I have to tell you that opening your mind to as many experiences as possible and then choosing what works for you and what doesn’t, is, (I believe) an incredibly powerful way to strengthen your personal beliefs and opinions. And why is that important for you right now? Well, anyone who has been part of a couple and is now single will often feel a little caste adrift, not knowing what works or fits their identities anymore. Trying lots of different things and without being influenced by anything that doesn’t really resonate with you is a great way to test out your new identity. Often times we discover that we are interested in many things that our partners would never have given the time of day to. Why not try as much as possible, simply because you can.

It really is a miracle to discover what’s out there. If you live in a fairly large town or city you’d be amazed at the number of groups and meetings going on every night. Of course London is awash with dozens of speakers and events and the possibility of meeting all kinds of people who you can talk to in person rather than in cyberspace. Most people go to these events alone and are usually very friendly.

Buoyed up by my mid-week experience, (and because I have a blog to write), my next stop on Sunday afternoon was Kentish Town, home to a five hour Ceroc Intermediate dance class. I felt I was taking an holistic approach – first the mind, now the body (the spirit comes a bit later!) servicing all parts that needed reaching. Ceroc is guaranteed to be loads of fun even if you have two left feet like me and of course, another opportunity to meet lovely people. So it was great to meet a great lady with whom I spent the early evening chatting in my favourite café in Belsize Park before moving into the ‘spirit’ section of my week.

‘A Course in Miracles’ is a huge tome of a book (the Bible springs to mind), that is based in a nutshell on Forgiveness. This is a biggy for all of us. Forgiveness is not an easy concept to get your head round when it can seem that you are justified in your blame and acceptance feels like a long way off. But a very nice man who opens up his very nice flat to people who are interested in studying A Course in Miracles for a couple of hours on a Sunday evening, helped us journey through a few pages towards understanding how to get there which also produced some very stimulating conversation.

For me, all of the above is A Course in Miracles. Its absolutely a miracle that no one dies of divorce, no hearts get so broken that they cannot heal and no feelings get so trampled on that they cannot ever revert to joy once again. For the rest of the summer why not create your own course in miracles. Whilst the sun is still shining (which is a miracle in itself) get out there, get interested and regain your identity or reinvent a new one!

Till tomorrow,

Love Francine
